Ditch the plastic water bottles and plastic grocery bags and go for reusable ones. Fix items before throwing them out or find ways to repurpose them into something else you can use. These and other efforts can make a huge difference! Mind your water consumption. Every day, people waste water in all sorts of ways. Be aware of what you’re doing and what you’re wasting by looking for ways to cut back. Here are a few ideas: Take shorter showers. Turn off the spout when brushing your teeth. Submit work orders for any leaks you notice. Eliminate bad habits. Consider how your habits are affecting the environment. How much water, energy, and non-recyclable products do you use every day? How much of it do you actually need? Eliminate excess waste by making your own products. You can also work on making meals to match how much you’ll eat (sticking to specific serving sizes can help with this!). Driving Tips for Winter Weather

Last month, the Luxury Apts WNY Blog shared information about the efforts we make to clear the snow and ice for our residents. We thought it would be a good idea to follow up with some tips for winter driving. As we all know, we get our fair share of inclement weather and less-than-optimal driving conditions. These tips will help you be safe as you’re out and about driving this winter. Tips for Winter Driving 1) Dress appropriately for the weather. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat may be just what you need. Wear boots or keep a pair in your vehicle (toss a pair of socks in them, too) in case you get stuck somewhere and end up walking. 2) Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle. Include items such as a first aid kit, jumper cables, rain ponchos, flashlights with working batteries, drinking water, non-perishable snacks, a tarp in case you need to change a tire on wet roads, wipes for cleanups, and an extra blanket. DMV.org is a good resource for additional information about emergency kits. 3) Before driving, be sure your windshield is completely defrosted. Before a long road trip, check your car’s fluids and make sure they are at the appropriate levels. Consider keeping extra antifreeze, windshield washing fluid, and transmission fluid in your car. 4) When you find yourself driving on wet, snow-packed, or icy roads, remember these three things: Slow down, increase the distance between you and any vehicles in front of you, and start braking sooner than you normally would. It will take longer to stop safely. Following these tips will help you be safe when you’re out and about and help to ensure that you arrive safely back at your apartment. Winter Services & Emergency Maintenance Guidelines for Luxury Apts WNY

Here at Luxury Apts WNY we take pride in providing excellent customer service for all in our apartment community. In the winter months this includes timely snow removal for our residents. We clear the sidewalks, plow the parking areas, and salt icy patches as a safety measure. We are also committed to offering reliable 24/7 emergency services year round, as well. In today’s post we will be offering some guidelines about our emergency services. Guidelines for Requesting Emergency Maintenance Services Our Luxury Apts WNY provide 24/7 emergency maintenance for our residents. In the case of an emergency, call the Leasing Office immediately (this includes after hours). Please note that the maintenance staff will only return to the community after office hours for emergency calls. In fairness to our maintenance staff, please use discretion when calling our answering service after hours. Unless it is an emergency, please wait until the office reopens to call in a service request. Examples of Emergencies — Any condition that might cause a fire — Gas odors. Please leave your home immediately and contact the gas company or call 911. — Broken windows or any condition that would jeopardize security — Refrigeration failure — No heat in winter — No electricity — No water — Plumbing leaks or sewage issues that may damage personal items or apartment property We strive to provide the best service possible, and sincerely hope that our service request procedure will provide fast, courteous, and efficient service to all of our residents.
